"Kuruk"

kuruk-in-backyard.jpg

This is "Kuruk", our stud Alusky (malamute/husky). Born- July 27, 2007. He loves attention & loves to snuggle. But I think more than anything, he loves his girlfriends Chamara & Talon. They spend all their time with one another & make wonderful music when they sing together. He is very sweet dog & a wonderful daddy:) Chamara is retired from breeding & will be a wonderful influence on any pups in Talon & Kuruk's future.

We can't wait to see the gorgeous pups when they arrive (tenitively expected by end of May, 2011)! I say tenitively, because it is always up to our doggy parents as to whether they wish to have little furballs running around;)

"Ruffuss"

ruffuss-haircut.jpg

This is "Ruffuss", our 150 lb., neutered male Great Pyranees/Newfoundland rescue. Born- Feb., 2006. He loves to talk to you, with low grumbles & growls, which sounds like a big bear, but he is just a big baby.

When he came to us, his coat was all matted and tangled, but with careful grooming & a big bathtub, lol, he became a big beautiful boy. Annual grooming can be a chore (pictured above), but it keeps him cool in the summer months.

It starts with a scissor trim, then a bath, then a 2nd scissor trim, followed by another bath, a good brushing & then the clippers to even everything out & finally we get a nice short coat, whew! The entire process takes several hours & about 5 seperate grooming sessions (done by me, or it would cost a small fortune;), but it's well worth it to keep our baby cool, not to mention cutting down on all the dirt he drags into the house! ;)

Ruffuss enjoys his pool in the summer & doesn't mind sharing it with the other dogs... most of the time;) In the winter months, he sports a long lush coat & takes full advantage of it when playing in the snow!

"Kyrah"

kyrahonporch.jpg

This is "Kyrah"- our spayed female short hair German Shepard rescue. Born- Oct. 1999. She had been abused when we first got her & was very shy around men & very protective of children. We worked on her socialization skills & she has made great progress over her years with us & is now the sweetest dog we own. She is a gentle & loving little lady:)

"Dakota"

dakota-outside.jpg

This is "Dakota", our spayed female Golden Retriever Mix rescue. Born- April, 1999. She has hip-displasia & suffered from seizures, but is on meds to help with both & hasn't had a seizure episode in over 7 years!

She doesn't seem to think she has any problems at all though. She is very sweet & playful; however, she is older now & loves taking her naps in the sun just as much:)

"Talon"

talon-profile-pic.jpg

This is "Talon", our female, spayed, Cinnamon & White, Malamute/Husky~ Born Jan. 1st, 2010!

Talon is a beautiful girl, both inside & out! She loves attention & is always in the mood to play. Her & Booda can romp around all day, rough-housing to their heart's content, and seemingly never run out of energy.

Talon is a sweet dog with a loving nature, but she's also a bit of a Diva. She knows what she wants & who she likes (as far as dogs go) and that, as they say, is pretty much that. True to the Alusky nature, Talon's no stranger to stubborness. However, with a bit of patience, a treat or two & lots of lovins, she rarely says "No" for long;)

They say the eyes are the window's to the soul. Talon's eyes are a warm golden amber. They sparkle with delight when she gazes upon you & could melt even the coldest heart. They speak to you in a launguage you never thought you knew and yet feel honored she took the time to teach you. If the eyes are truly a window to one's soul, then Talon's is pure gold.

"Buddah"

buddah-10-18-11.jpg

This is "Booda", our resident Elephant! Just kidding of course, but as you can see, he is a sizeable pup. Just over a year old now, he weighs in at whopping 110 lbs! I bet you can guess why we named him Booda, Lol;)

He may be HUGE, but he's a gentle giant. Buddah loves nothing more than to play & be loved on... except, well, maybe his food, heehee;) He aims to please & knows all his basic commands. He even learned a few extras, like: "shake", "gimmee kisses" and "speak". He's quite intelligent, but like most puppies, loses interest fast;) So, it can be a bit of a chore sometimes keeping him entertained; but, it's all worth it in the end, seeing him so hoppy, playing with a new toy. He's quite comical in most everything he does & can have you smiling on the dreariest of days. Ever my sunshine, ever my love, always my Booda:)

"Chamara"

chamara1.jpg

This is "Chamara", our female Husky. Born- March, 2004. She is a big love & was a wonderful mom to all her pups. (Click here to see Chamara's past litters). She has had 4 very happy & healthy litters of pups with us!

She loves to dig holes in the back yard & lay in them, but also enjoys ducking into the large private dog room we have built into the house:)

We ordinarily would have had Chamara spayed after her 3rd litter, as we don't like to breed the mom's past age 6 or 3 litters, whichever comes first. However, we also do rescue & had aquired a rescue husky who went into heat while fostering her. In an effort to keep her from getting tagged by a male, we had no worries about Chamara who ended up going into heat 2 months early! As a result, Chamara had a 4th litter! Although it was unexpected, those babies were definitely not unwanted. We loved her last litter the same as all the others & treated them with the utmost care. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason & all 4 of her pups went to wonderful homes where they were not only loved, but in a couple cases, needed:)

Chamara now lives the charmed life, not that she wasn't spoiled before;) She spends her days teaching Talon the "Doggy" ropes & will eventually become a wonderful influence on any future puppies from Talon & Kuruk.

"Nudge"

nudge-smiling2.jpg

This is "Nudge"- our female spayed Welsh Corgi/Shepard mix rescue. Born- March 1st, 2008. Nudge was diagnosed with demodectic mange at the age of 2 months, but was put on medication for 2 1/2 years & has done very well. She hasn't had an episode since!

She is a lively pup & very loving:) We had tried to adopt her out once, but she would have none of that, lol, so she is here to stay with us:)

"Gizmo"

gizmochihuahuadaddy.jpg

This is "gizmo", our long-haired, apple-head Chihuahua Male. Born- Feb. 14th, 2007. He is sweet as can be, super layed back for a Chi & loves to cuddle. He has sired some very beautiufl puppies in the past! (Click here to see his past chihuahua pups).

Gizmo enjoys terrorizing our male Alusky, from the other side of the fence of course;) One of his favorite passtimes in the spring & summer is digging.... ALOT of digging.... did I mention he loves to dig, lol? As a result he gets dirty.......really dirty! But all in all, he enjoys the simple life of just being a dog:)

"Tinker"

tinker-smiling.jpg

This is "Tinker"- Born Dec. 10th, 2009. She's a Pom-Chi (Pomeranian/Chihuahua hybrid) & definitly a momma's girl! She goes wherever I go if she can help it & she usually can, because momma loves to take her everwhere! :)

A huge love, with enough vigor to make the energizer bunny jealous & so cute you just melt. She wins everyone's adoration effortlessly:)

We plan to breed Tinker & Gizmo in the future,  but a litter is not expected until the beginning of October, 2011. This is tenitive of course, as breeding is ultimately up to our doggy parents. No forced breeding is ever used here, nor shall it ever be.

"Belle"

bell-smiling2.jpg

This is "Belle" our spayed/female/rescue/Stafforshire "Pitbull" Terrier! She was officially adopted into our family on Dec. 25th, 2010!

We had Belle for nearly a year before we decided to make her a permanent part of our pack. She was a rescue looking for a home, but go figure, there just aren't that many homes that appreciate the altered artwork Belle is prone to now & then. I mean, I don't get it, the occasional rearrangement of the siding on our house is something we've grown.... well.... kinda..... oh who am I kidding, it's rather disturbing really! But we just chuck it up to having another rebel teenager in the house, lol;)

All kidding aside though, Belle's behavior is not rebellion, but rather an anxiety disorder that we have been addressing for quite some time now. I think we are making great progress with her though. She rarely has an "Altered Art" episode, due to the utilization of "Pheramone Collars" and "Herbal Anti-Stress Tablets" for dogs. However, we are striving for their complete/permanent ceasation; not so much because of the occasional rearrangement of our house siding, but because of the harm Belle does to herself in the process! Poor baby:(

We will continue to work with Belle until this issue is resolved, for her safety & the safety of our house, lol;) In the meantime, she will be loved, quirks & all, & recieve all the help needed for a complete recovery.

Belle is a special soul, worthy of love & kindness & we are honored to provide that for her. We have no reservations about giving her our love & she definitely has no hesitation in showering us with her's! :)
